Using products like the Normatec recovery boots/arms/hips will give you a host of great benefits that will increase the quality of your recovery.
The Normatec System is a dynamic compression device designed for recovery and rehab. It uses pulsing compressions to effectively mimic the natural motions of the arms and legs, which removes metabolites and fluids from the limbs.
Research finds this recovery technique more beneficial than static compressions. The Normatec system can be used by anyone, from the elite athlete to the weekend warrior. If you spend a lot of time on your feet all day at work, these are the best wind down tool you can possibly use. Training multiple times a week? Recovering post-surgery or post injury? You need to try Normatec!
The Normatec system includes a control unit and attachments which go on the legs, arms, or hips. Using compressed air to massage limbs, mobilise fluid, and speed recovery with a pulse massage pattern. You will first experience a pre-inflate cycle, during which the connected attachments are molded to your exact body shape. The session will then begin by compressing your feet, , or upper quad (depending on which attachment you are using). Similar to the kneading and stroking done during a massage, each segment of the attachment will first compress in a pulsing manner and then release. This will repeat for each segment of the attachment as the compression pattern works its way up your limb.
Your recovery specialist will select the best Normatec accessory to use (legs, hips, or arms). There will be an appropriate sleeve for each body part that is attached to a hose. The specialist will help you with the sleeves, then turn the machine on. Pulsing action encourages fluids to move out of the muscles after a workout. The sleeve will compress and release in each cell as they fill with air. This pulsing keeps fluids from being forced in the wrong direction. The device releases the pressure in each cell at exactly the right moment to give your muscles maximum rest and recovery time.
We recommend to everyone for 20-30 minutes for your Normatec therapy session, as this is the most beneficial time frame. It is best done as soon as possible after your training session, this will help clear all the lactic acid and metabolites out of your muscles. Space will be a shared booking, unless specifically
